Answers: Health Fairs
Overview
Launched in 2021, Answers Pop-Up Health Fairs improve access to healthcare and community resources for underserved communities throughout Georgia. By partnering with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and local organizations, the program connects individuals and families with screenings, referrals, education, and support services.
In spite of COVID in 2021, we were able to serve dozens of families, provided COVID testing and offer vaccinations. In 2022, we began partnering with Family Connections in fourteen (14) counties in middle Georgia.
Objective
There is a health care coverage gap affecting individuals in states like Georgia that have opted not to expand Medicaid. Therefore our objective is to bring together Healthcare Professionals, Harm Reduction Advocates & Mental Health Services to provide resources, assessments, build relationships & trust with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) & Substance Use Disorder (SUD) individuals in all communities.
Our goal for future health fairs is to continually support health needs and communities in accessing the true resources needed instead of traditional and ineffective band aid solutions.
